Elle is an American designer who founded the label WALDMANN label after designing for a number of luxury labels around the world and working as a part of the couture team at Alexander McQueen in London. the label was born out of the desire to celebrate modern women with collections imbued with an original sense of seductive strength and alluring ease.

Elle experienced a creative and nature-filled upbringing in Seattle, where she learned to drape and stitch in her mother’s sewing room. Following a degree in Literature, Elle decided to forgo law school in order to move to London in order to pursue the art of design and tailoring, studying at both Central Saint Martins and the London College of Fashion. She began her career in Los Angeles, drawn by both the love of California modernism and the natural world. She then continued to work around the world as a designer for luxury brands based between Los Angeles, London and Hong Kong.

During the early years of her career, Elle worked directly with fabric mills in Japan, with family owned tanneries in France and Italy, and side-by-side with embroidery artisans in Delhi, Mumbai and across India. Following a number of years based in Asia, Elle returned to London and her sartorial roots to earn a Masters in Womenswear from LCF, receiving distinctions for her ‘sculpturally modern take on couture’.

Dedicated to bold creative exploration and craftsmanship at the highest level, Elle then joined the Couture studio at Alexander McQueen where she further honed her abilities in concept development, textile design and creative pattern cutting while working to create looks for Paris fashion week, red carpets and various heads of state.

With her unique aesthetic and point-of-view as a designer shaped by this diverse, international background of exposures, experiences and skills - Elle returned to Los Angeles full-time in 2016 and launched WALDMANN in 2017.
